Website Domain

There are multiple different types of website domains that are competing to grasp the attention of millions to use their website, but because of social media, launching a website from a domain is not the only to run a successful business. For example, the reality TV star Kylie Jenner launched a beauty brand called Kylie Cosmetics at the age of 18. She did not spend a single penny on any sort of marketing, the only marketing she did was what most teenagers and young adults do on social media, post. She marketed her products on Instagram and Snapchat resulting in a sold-out website in under 10 minutes, the obvious difference between her and any other entrepreneur, was that she already had millions of followers. A more realistic version of entrepreneurs only using social media is a girl named Dani from Brigham Young University Idaho. She has accumulated over 50 clients here on campus by promoting her nail page and offering affordable prices. She has now created a website where it all...

Online Businesses

Online Business     As you scroll through amazon, you are able to find dupe after dupe after dupe of high-end products that cost a pretty penny. Companies such as Amazon allow you to find thousands of different products  but have you ever thought about where those products come from? There are companies that sell products in bulk for a very low price and then another company will resell them for an affordable price that will intrigue customers because sometimes they are the same quality as high-end products but for a much cheaper price. The act of buying from these types of companies is called drop shipping. If a company chooses to sell its products this way, the manufacturer sends it directly to the customer, so the business that hired the manufacturer does not have to worry about shipment but only about complaints and returns. They truly do not have any control over the shipping progress why its a monopoly choosing to use a manufacturer to be in charge of your shipment ...

Intro to Running a Web Business

Before I became interested in running a business, I didn't know anything or even where to start. I thought the best way to run a successful business was first to create a product, once I began reading articles about the process of finding out what type of products the demographic you are aiming towards wants, it is not the most effective way. When I am on campus, about once a day, someone from IBC wants me to participate in their survey, but then I never hear about their brand again. From reading the articles from the past week's assignments, I feel like a business model is much more logical because it contains the details of financing, demographic data, product ideas, and much more. By creating a successful business model, you will be able to break down the different parts that go into creating a product such as the demographics and if it is successful you will be able to present it to future investors. I have been able to have a good idea about how to run a web business throu...

Divorce

With the divorce rates being so high these days, do you think people have given up on the idea of a healthy marriage? Do people just give up far too quickly? Well according to Dr. Michelle Weiner-Davis, an author and a clinical licensed social worker, the simple is yes, she believes that people give up too easily. There have been couples that I have heard that have decided to finalize their decision on divorce after one large blowout. I may not know the full story but it seemed a little quick to be calling a divorce after a couple months of being married. It is heartbreaking to hear that they have been faced with divorce at such a young age and only for being married for a couple months but do you think that something could have been done to save it? I certainly think so. A lot can be done to save a crippling marriage, the work just has to be done. It turns out that the scary fact that we have all heard that 50% of marriages will end in a divorce is actually extremely false. The r...

Children's Needs

It is very easy to look over the needs of children and their cries for help. According to Michael Popkin, the main job of parents is to protect and prepare their children for the real world and when they are officially on their own. I strongly believe in this statement, because I've lived it. In other parents' eyes, my parents may have appeared strict, but it comes back to different cultures and different lifestyles. My father lived in a dysfunctional home, he wanted to avoid things that happened in his own home that would later leave a long-lasting effect on himself and his sisters, from happening to me. For example, I was only allowed to sleep over at family friends' homes such as members of the church that we have known all of our lives, compared to not sleeping over at a friend's house that they have never met. Was I frustrated and jealous that I couldn't go to school sleepovers? The answer is yes, who wouldn't be, but they always offered to take me back th...

Effects of Fathers

The nuclear family, which is made up of a mother, a father, and their children, does it really make a difference when both parents are present? Do fathers really have an impact on their children or is it the mother that does all the nurturing? The plain and simple answer is that children need both parents in the household in order to succeed in life. This does not mean that they are automatically going to become billionaires or become president, but they will be able to have a strong relationship with their parents so they will succeed in their own ways. It is proven that those who have a strong relationship with their fathers are far less likely to suffer from depression, poverty, or even drug use. In today's times, the nuclear family is being torn apart. There is no other way to say it. The media wants to be so politically correct to the point where they do not want to offend anyone about their lives that they want to make the family seem as if it does not have to be the traditi...

The effects of communication

Is communication truly the key to a successful marriage? The answer is easy; yes it is. Though it may be the one thing that everyone has not mastered yet, probably because they were never taught by having a good example. Growing up, my parents did not always have the best communication skills because my father never knew what healthy communication was. He has gotten a lot better but when I was young, I was frustrated how my father would react to some tuff decisions in the family. Over the years, he has been able to make changes to better understand my mom and she was able to have patience with him. With the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, the center of the church is family. And we can apply the same principles about counsel that we learn in church, in our own marriages. What couple doesn't want their relationship to succeed? By learning how to listen, compromise, and communicate with each other, there would be a lot more successful marriage rates. In the United States...
